How do I convince my parents to let me get a guitar?

ahh i was the same way..but ive been playing for 3 yrs now..im 16 and i convinced my parents (when i was 13) by #1 showing a greater interest in music.. and #2 buying it myself. i spent 200 even on my first guitar and it was a squier by fender stratocaster..my advice would be to start off with a cheap guitar and then work ur way up. i would reccomend starting on electric tho..you can even play it without an amp at first till you get good then maybe convince your parents to buy you one. anyway i now have 3 guitars. an acoustic. and 2 electrics (epiphone les paul and epiphone SG) but like i said work your way up. its like driving a car..the first car u drive doesnt need to be a sports car...so the first guitar you own doesnt need to be expensive. i dont have my first guitar anymore..i sold it to my friend and am now teaching her :) email me if u have any questions about guitars, amps, ect. at a7x_emo_1995@yahoo.com
